Barrier Island Bagels is a bagel shop located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina (OBX). The Outer Banks is also known as the Barrier Islands. 

The client came to me with a concept for the logo. I created her concept as well as my own concept and mocked each logo up in various scenarios that the logo would be used in. After presenting the concepts to the client, she thought my design was the stronger of the two. I packaged the logo variations for the client, and created a brand book for her to have some guidelines to go by.

My logo design for Barrier Island Bagels

The logo mark. it is a bagel, where the Barrier Islands create the bite out. At a distance it just looks like a bagel with a bite taken out. Up close, the Barrier Islands are what create the bite out of the logo. 

A vertical option for circumstances where horizontal cannot work.

I created a basic brand guide for the clients in Adobe InDesign. It covers the different BIB logo variations and when to use them. It also covers some basic Do's and Do Not's. In one of our remote meetings we talked about the purpose of following simple rules like this in order to create a cohesive brand. It also includes details about the typeface seen in the logo and what to pair it with. The final page before the thank you goes over the different file types (like png, ai, jpeg) and when to use them.
